It's crazy how frequently we accept people when they're wrong but how hard of a pill it is to swallow when they're right. And more so it becomes a tangled web to tell the people who we care about most the truth--because it's always when they need to hear it the most that they want to hear it the least. It's strange how often we ignore our conscience, even when it's screaming at us. There's a startling difference between "attention" and respect. If someone is worth your time, they'll put in a little footwork--this is in any relationship, romantic, friendship, sexual, professional.
Reminder to self: You've come too far to settle on mediocre.
